About Watch House

Wetherspoon pub with free WiFi, a variety of British cask ales and a simple all-day menu.

On a busy high street by a thriving street market, this Wetherspoon establishment has plenty of capacity. Ceiling supports, disguised as book shelves create lots of different seating areas to choose from. Despite being well-lit, the interior can at times appear to be a little dark. The best place to enjoy breakfast is sitting in sunshine by the windows at the front. Tables and chairs may be placed outside on the pavement forecourt in good weather. It is always a popular pub with the nature of the clientele changing during the pub's long day. One of the world's creakiest staircases leads to the upstairs toilets. Quiz night is Wednesday.

Alcohol is served from 9am.

I had an enjoyable hour at this spoons, enjoying a couple of drinks and a late lunch. For my first drink I had a Yuletide ale for £2.86. I was going to have another until I saw the Manager's Special of Wiltshire ham and eggs with a drink for just over £7. I enjoyed a bottle of Asahi with the food. Pleasant service from Paniro, wo had an interesting story of how he got his name.

Came for lunch today with my work colleague. Both had curries but wasn’t the greatest! Staff were alright too but not the friendliest, £9 for a curry and drink wasn’t bad but they need to look at the quality of this too.

This is one of the best Witherspoons I've been to. The staff are hard working and friendly. The best thing is the locals that frequent the establishment. So friendly with a real community feel. Just called in the last 4 days while in Lewisham. Made a man for Yorkshire very welcome.

This is a lively pub with friendly staff and good-quality food and drink. It was clean and tidy and seemed to attract a lot of locals. Who can blame them when you can get a decent meal with a drink for little more than a tenner, and unlimited hot drink refills for just £1.56? No matter what you think of the company owner, his business does provide great value. It was a bit of a trek to find the toilets (upstairs), but that seems to be typical Wetherspoons wherever you go! Overall this is a great pub and I'll be happy to stop by again when I'm next in the area.
