About Wilton Arms

Flower baskets cover this Victorian pub, which has a conservatory, TV sport and daily specials menu.

Until 2020 a Shepherd Neame house and, sometime before that, a Whitbread pub, the lease of the Wilton Arms is now held by Inda Pubs who reopened it in September 2021. Inda, a small operator running a number of pubs around London, has a good record in upgrading local pubs.

The pub, dating from 1826 and Grade II listed, underwent a significant makeover prior to reopening, opening up the ground floor room to more natural light from the large windows at the front and from the conservatory down a few steps to the rear. The bar counter front, of heavily carved wood, contrasts with a modern open chrome metal shelving back-bar. The room retains its wooden panelling, fireplace and polished wooden floor and is now furnished with rugs and an eclectic mixture of dining tables and chairs.

Upstairs is a delightful function room in which the refurbishment has exposed some very old wallpaper, original sash window shutters and another fireplace. The ambience of the room has been enhanced by the hanging of some wonderful paintings on the walls.

The two handpumps may offer a choice of Allsopp's ales (this is a new "brand" owned by a descendant of the Allsopp family who has revived the beers) and sometimes Fuller's London Pride. The kitchen provides an up-market menu of classic British food including a roast dish on Sundays.

This venue is card-only, no cash.

If I could sum up this place in one word, it would be: amazing. I’ve been here multiple times now, and its consistency is what truly sets it apart. Every visit has been exceptional, and it’s easily one of my favorite spots. The food is incredible. The sticky chicken thighs are to die for—an absolute must. On steak night, the onglet is always perfectly cooked—tender and full of flavor. And the sticky toffee pudding? Arguably the best I’ve ever had. What truly elevates this pub is the people. The staff are fun, kind, and outstanding at what they do. Michaela, in particular, is a delight—so…

Excellent food, disappointing service. Food was great and I’d recommend anything. We went the day after Boxing Day and the lady serving us was not in a good mood. They were out of quite a few dishes on the day. It was disappointing but wasn’t a deal breaker for us. Yet the server gave no grace for your brief moment of disappointment, getting edgy about late deliveries and lack of options. I imagine if I went on a different day the service would be as good as the food and I’d be giving this a 5 star.

This is what you are looking for. An English pub with amazing food, great service, friendly staff, and not owned by a corporation. No plastic menus. Not the same 6 beers on tap. Fish and chips are delicious, and if Belgium had fries this good they would be bragging. Wish I could come back but leaving tomorrow. One step to enter and half the tables are accessible. Bathrooms not really. That's the only downside.

Glad I stopped in! Great pub, lovely atmosphere and drinks selection and, WOW the pie was so good! It takes a lot for a Northerner to admit this but it was the best pie I’ve ever had in a pub!

What a fab little find, tucked away! The Sunday roast was delicious and I have been dreaming of a decent roast for a number of months as an expat living in the USA! This did not disappoint! Beef cooked to perfection! Huge yorkie! Vegetables spot on (and I could swap my carrot for hubby’s parsnip which was the epitome of a perfect meal for me!) The Guiness was perfectly chilled! The sausage roll bites and the puffed pork crackling was just perfect to start the meal off! Sadly as much as I would have loved to… I just could not manage the rhubarb crumble which I’d had my eye on ! Service was…
