About Albert

Bustling, comfortable pub with rustic furnishings, serving modern gastropub fare, with beer garden.

Oct 2020 - can confirm that it opened officially by Andrew Marr. 3 real Ales on handpump tonight, London Pride, Hophead, and Jaipur.

A license has been granted to Sam Moss of Leeds Brewery and the pub is planned to re-open in the summer of 2019. See

NOTE - closed end Sept, all the bar fittings were intact, the flats upstairs are now on the market. Simple traditional pub, a troupe of Morris Men were in residence on one visit, built in 1850, the five bar layout can still be made out, but the one-bar works well. There is a large beer garden - very popular in summer - stocked with a range of flowers and plenty of seating and is heated. The pub interior is simple/rudimentary with solid wooden chairs and tables. There is no music played in the pub, there were also no speakers evident. Pub quiz on Tuesdays. Despite a good menu, food is served from an extensive gastro-style menu including vegetarian options, still first and foremost a beer pub. Weston's Traditional Scrumpy served. Chalk Farm tube is around 10-15 mins walk. Sold to Springcroft Constructions, who will seek permission to add residential accommodation while stating their intention to keep the pub open.

Favourite boozer in Camden. A little set back from the high street. Great selection of keg and cask beers. Decent food and plenty of outside space. Staff always friendly and accommodating.

Had Sunday roast here, one beef and one pork. Nice apart from the potatoes that should have been crunchy for my taste.

An amazing hidden gem! We were at the Zoo and didn’t want to eat there. We stumbled over this Pub and it’s just amazing! The waitress is really nice and the food just lovely.

I was on a hunt for great places to have a beer or something else to drink. In my search I stumbled upon this amazing place. I did not know what to expect, though I had already seen photos from there. As I entered, I felt a sense of coziness. This place stands out with its variety Og what looks like a pub/Cafe, but also with its outdoor area. It's lovely to see the variation suiting whatever mood you're in. I was met with smiles and a great service from the two people serving me. They have a lovely mulled wine, and a great selection of beer. I can highly recommend this place!

I had the chicken roast. Although it was pretty busy the food wasn’t too long of a wait and FOR SURE worth waiting for! Was delicious and full of flavour, just a little under temperature. But was amazing and can be overlooked. Nice friendly and helpful gentleman behind the bar. For the price it’s great.
