By no means a bad pub but could use some whipping into shape to be honest. Some poor floor management meant there were reservation signs out on Friday that shouldn’t have been there, plates and glasses left out etc. Small things I admit but they added up to a bit of an amateur hour feel. Also, I got the ribs which claimed to be smoked but they weren’t. Nice enough flavour but missold. Not bad! But not great.

Decent pub with a big selection of beers. Lots of real ale and from local breweries. We did not eat here but a lot of the tables were booked for Sunday lunch, so if you wanted to eat here it seems a good idea to book an reserve a table. Large garden with plenty of outside seats very nice to sit here in decent weather.

Always a pleasure going to these big smoke pubs. I've been a big fan since I first set foot in The Sussex Arms nearly 15 years ago. Great ales and ciders all around. Immaculate service. Why can't we have more pubs like this.

We went here on sunday for a roast. Great place to go dog friendly as well so the pooch came too. Its nice to have found somewhere that serves the roast in the evening as well as lunch time. Could not faullt it. Gravy is to die for. We had the three roast choice, the lamb and the wellington. Great meal all round although the amb could have been left in the oven longer till more tender.. (They also have the most amazing ribs) alas they had run out of sticky toffee pudding, so we had to settle for brownies and ice cream.

Food used to be good but is so average now. First table in for lunchtime of Saturday on BH weekend and only one fish available, cold chips, overcooked chicken and took ages to arrive. Staff playing their own soft rock (not my taste but that's personal) music from their phone with regular YouTube adverts playing. Beer wasn't great either. Shame, used to be a good spot!
