About Alma Tavern
The Alma reopened after a short closure due to unforeseen circumstances in May/June 2023. The pub had reopened in January 2022 after having been closed for a couple of years. It has undergone a tasteful refurbishment, with Croydon-related pictures and comfortable furniture. It is a large one-bar pub, with a pool table in a separate area, and a couple of TVs showing sport. The pub now serves a full menu; please check with them for the times that the kitchen is open. Cask ale may occasionally be available.

I went in there with two dogs and very pleased that the lady offered me water for the dogs as well as treats. It seems to have improved since new management have taken over. I didn’t have food but did see other customers with food and it looked good so I’m tempted to try it. I think the dogs give you 10 out of 10 for the crisps and water. Lol

Our super local pub. Been in a few times for a quick beer stop. Service is always friendly. 2 cocktails for £10 deal is my favourite offer. On Saturday’s they are my worst enemy due to Live music / Karaoke nights that keeps me up due to us living in close proximity. But that’s the tax you pay living on a main road I guess.

I enjoyed my visit to the Alma. Service was excellent. The bar very clean and drinks reasonably priced. The customers were also friendly. I understand they have live music and intend improving the garden at the rear if the property. There is a large patio out front which is a sun-trap all day. A good local pub.

Quiet Sunday afternoon. Popped in for a drink with a friend and mate. Quick, pleasant service. Watched some tennis, although the music wasn't to my taste. I was tempted by the beer garden but it rained. All good.

Went to this pub for the first time tonight as it is our local and was shocked and never felt so uncomfortable. It also clearly states on their website they do 2 for 1 cocktails until 7pm so when we got there we ordered some which the girl behind the bar said was fine. Once our drinks were served we were then told by the manager that they no longer do the 2for1 deal and it shouldn't have been on the menu and charged us full price instead. The girl behind the bar didn't know how to make the drinks as was reading the ingredients on the menu and the drinks were disgusting. Would never go back…
