Classic pub with five cask ales, blackboard menu and Sunday roasts, plus occasional live music.
One of the older pub sites in Highgate (1610) on top of the hill. The present building dates from 1888 rebuilt in 1930 and refurbished in 1992. Look out for the fish tank built into the wall behind the bar and open fires in winter. A single roomed lively pub with dark wood panelled walls and a large L shaped bar counter with 5 handpumps. Food is served we believe: noon (11am Sat) - 10pm. See the pub's website for detail of menus. Various board games are available. Underground: Archway or Highgate. Buses: 143, 210 & 263 pass by.

I visited this pub for a Sunday roast at noon and it was fantastic! We had a mixed meat platter to share and the quality of the meat was impeccable. The plate was well-varied, and everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was great and the service was friendly. It’s also a dog-friendly spot where you can help yourself to treats, water, and blankets for your furry friends. Prices are very reasonable for Highgate. Highly recommend!

I came here after a visit to Highgate Cemetery. The pub is lovely and the Sunday Roast was very good!

Only ordered a burger takeout as I was really hungry whilst walking my dog in Waterlow Park. Had a quick search on Google map and found out this place is dog friendly and is really close to the park so came and ordered a takeout to eat int he park. Tastes really good, even the fries tastes something special. Would love to come and sit down and try out different menus with my dog.

Had lunch today here with my (elderly!) parents. Our server Gary was absolutely brilliant and took the time to chat and joke with us, as well as giving us excellent service. I had a mango and avocado salad which was excellent. The portions were so generous that my parents couldn't finish theirs! A very nice vibe, dog friendly and fully accessible. Very clean toilets which is always brilliant! Thank you so much Gary we will come back!
