About Assembly House

Refurbished pub with stripped floors, atrium ceiling and board games, plus weekend DJ sets.

The beers on offer here can vary almost week by week from the wide Greene king portfolio - all we can say is that there are usually two available and recently (Oct 2024) it got to three with Bonkers Conkers on tap.

The Northern Line station is closed until Easter next year. - overland still ok Tufnell Park is probably the best alternative. Or walk from Kentish Town West or Gospel Oak.

Built in 1896 and designed by Thorpe and Furniss of nearby Camden, the building is a striking landmark in Kentish Town (Grade II listed) with a large and prominent French chateau style tower adding to its status. Inside, the bar cabinet work, etched glass and bar-back, wall mirrors and ceiling are all of exceptional character and design. There is a fine skylight in the former billiard room at the back. The interior is exceptionally large, naturally lit by huge clear picture windows, opened out in recent years and is served by a very large single bar which extends from the front room, round the side and into the back room. A CAMRA Heritage Pub. The toilets, accessible from the back room, are downstairs, with a disabled facility on the ground floor.

On a visit in Jan 2021 only GK IPA avaialble.

Large pub, clean and tidy. I arrived just after they opened and was pleased that the ale was in good condition. Some pubs are a bit slack with the first pint, but not so here. I had the grilled halloumi in flat bread, with chips and salad. It was quite filling, and very tasty!

Went here last night (Thursday) before going to a gig nearby. We had the katsu burger and fish and chips. The katsu burger was tasty and had a nice flavour to it. Nice to see different things on a menu too. The sweet chilli sauce was a hit. The fish and chips was ok. I’ve had better in pubs. The batter was average and the fish a little chewy making me think it wasn’t hot enough. But was edible and I didn’t flag it to staff. Highly recommend the blood orange lemonade. Great atmosphere here for friends, dates, colleagues. Just has a brilliant decor and light. Would go again.

Great pub on the corner of a busy high street. It's spacious and has lots of options for seating. The service was good, and it was the perfect place to catch up with an old friend. We had some great food. I had a beyond meat burger which was lush.

Sorry to say I'm one of the group that found the place less than satisfactory. Food, we were told would take 30-40 minutes. Apparently my son said it was 70 minutes and only after I went and had a chat with the bar staff. Tables that came after us finished their meal before we were served. My chicken was tepid (can the cook be given training on how to use a microwave) but the chips were nice. My wife had scampi, this comment is aimed at senior management not the pub, the so-called scampi should be renamed crispy bread shell with a hint of fish. We dissect one. Shame i didn't photograph it…

Went to watch England vs. Slovakia, service was really good, even though quite busy. Got there 2 hours before kick off and plotted up in a decent spot for the game. Friendly crowd. Prices reason around £6-£6.50 per pint and tap beers tasted good.
