About Lion & Unicorn

Bright pub with British menu, mismatched tables, brightly upholstered armchairs, terrace and garden.

Oct 2023 - The Northern Lane station is closed until Easter next year - Thameslink overland still ok Tufnell Park is probably the best alternative. Or walk from Kentish Town West or Gospel Oak.

A great favourite, especially to the local community, this popular, comfortable pub has been a welcome addition to the cask beer scene in vibrant Kentish Town and is an accredited member of CAMRA's LocAle scheme. The pub has a real "homely" feel to it being run by the friendly management and staff as a Geronimo branded gastro-pub.

The cask beer range is of good quality and includes LocAle breweries - usually Redemption. There is an open fire and very comfortable seating. The pub has won local and regional awards for both its front and back gardens. Sunday quizzes. CAMRA member discount.

Above the pub is the Giant Olive Theatre company, for details of productions, see their website http://www.giantolive.com/ Occasional comedy nights in upstairs theatre (on non-theatre dates).

Cider available on keg (and on Cask in summer). Disabled Access and W.C. Function room may be available in upstairs theatre on non-performance days.

We love the Lion and Unicorn pub - it's become our favourite local pub since discovering it last summer. Val and the staff have always been incredibly accommodating, especially with our toddler. We love atmosphere and space. There's a cozy log fire for the colder months, and my toddler loves to romp around and sit on the comfy chairs. Their lunch menu is great value, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in serving up great food. Well worth a visitor or three!

Well …. Had a lunch with my work colleagues. Ordered a fish&chips as my colleagues recommended to me . When the food has arrived I should sent it back to the kitchen straight away! The chips looked like they been cooked hour ago and deep fried again , the same with the fish . Fish was so greasy , so little fish and a lot butter on top.you can taste the overcooked oil in your mouth. My colleague had the same issues so it wasn’t just me. All evening I was suffering from stomach pain . It wasn’t first time when I was visiting this place. This time quality of food wasn’t great at all !!

I took my parents for lunch here on Saturday, as the pub had been recommended by a friend. It was a lovely sunny day and the garden was busy and had a great atmosphere. We dined in the restaurant and we all loved our meals. My father especially enjoyed the market fish of the day - which was skate. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back!

The pub looks like it's recently been redecorated and looks amazing! Comfy traditional and on trend. The fire in the middle was the place to sit. We went for Sunday lunch and the food was well priced. 20 for a roast. Service charming. The meal itself was a mixed bag. Hubby's lamb was delicious but my beef was stringy. Roast potatoes too hard and I do love a cheesy runny cauliflower cheese. Hubby and I on the fence re the inclusion of cauliflower leaves, I liked, he didn't. Room was packed and we would likely return but would choose the lamb next time.
