About Barley Mow
Historic pub with listed wooden booth seating, occasional live music and Saturday quizzes.
One of the oldest surviving pubs in Marylebone, dating from 1791, grade II listed and a CAMRA heritage pub. The interior, consisting of the main bar and a small snug (with a book exchange) at the rear, retains its original matchboard panelling, now displaying prints of 18th century Marylebone, and, most notably, two small drinking compartments fronting the main bar counter. Both bars, with their part bare wood, part carpeted floors, are furnished with upholstered pews, benches and stools. Discreetly positioned screens and an eclectic selection of background music complete the ambience. The food offering is snacks plus pies.
Six handpumps dispense up to five ales but note that in summer months this may reduce to two.
As of autumn 2023 it was reported that the quiz here now includes celebrity A-listers appearing by video, and that the quiz is so popular you will need to book in advance to participate.

Fantastic pub, very convivial and buzzing. Doesn't feel like it's just off dull Baker Street, and has nice secluded back room.

Monthly, the Barley Mow marylebone offers an amazing Sunday lunch. A simple prawn cocktail starter, my wife had the soup, then beef main with great roasties, veg, and yorkshire pud. The vegan option was tasty and cauliflower cheese side excellent. The chocolate tart and crumble were both fabulous. Service with a smile in the warmest and friendliest pub in Marylebone. Their pies go down a treat if you're partaking of the brilliant quiz nights. Shhh, it's too good to share.

A character filled, old school pub well placed for Baker Street and Marylebone stations. Great, fast and friendly service and a great selection of real ales, beers and spirits. My only complaint is I didn't find it sooner!

Amazing place especially for pub trivia/quiz. The food especially the pies were amazing. Decent drinks. The host for trivia was hilarious. Great trivia questions too! HIGHLY recommend to everybody.

My favourite pub in the area. Extremely cosy and warm vibes inside, and little tables outside where you can watch the world go by. Publican and staff are friendly and attentive. Really feels like a local. Murphy's stout available.
