About Metropolitan Bar
Cavernous, cask marque accredited pub with traditional bar food menu and hotel lobby style.
Ths pub's entrance is between two exits from Baker Street tube station, and thereafter has a cinema-style flight of stairs leading to a foyer area with seating. A second flight leads you into the cavernous main bar. Look out for the tableaux on the climb up detailing local history and personalities, including Madame Tussauds, which is close by. The bar area is broken up by pillars and dates from 1911. The high ceilings in the bar have heraldic crests that reflect the transport links, as they are all of railway companies.
A major refurbishment in 2017 substantially improved the overall ambience. Note that retail alcohol sale is licensed from 9am and not before.

Belated review for visit on Sunday 19th May. Have been to this Wetherspoons many times in the past. First time I've reviewed. A good sized branch right next to Baker Street Station and not too far from Madame Tussauds. This this branch usually attracts a large tourist and football crowd. Although the pub was not too busy during this visit. I ordered the 11" Ham and Mushroom Pizza and a pint of Strongbow Dark Fruits. Total cost was £12.85. The pint arrived a couple of minutes after ordering and the pizza just over 10 minutes. I must say I was impressed with the pizza, well topped and it…

Decent amount of seats. The staff were ok, the bar man was a bit rude. Food was nice. Cocktails are not that great. Toilets are quite a walk away but nice and spacious.

Had a little get together at the Metropolitan Bar.. it was nice and conducive, we had a great time, took nice pictures, ordered drinks (alcohol and non alcoholic) and food, (chicken chips etc.). The restroom is clean and well maintained and conducive. The bar was crowded, but I think it was due to the fact that it was the beginning of the weekend.

Noisy place a big hall with a load of seating and a large bar been to better weather spoons ordered a chicken jalfraisy and a drink. First of all my knife and fork were dirty uncleaned and second my nan bread was solid as a rock the rest of it tasted like a microwave curry from tesco and also the men's toilet was blocked up full of poo and tissues not a great experience for my first impression plus the drinks are double the prices of some weatherspoons

The damn food stops serving at 11 (fair enough) but we didnt get any. Drinks were fairly priced for London (of course it is whetherspoons). Service was mid but who cares. The old men were creepy but they kind of left me alone so it's fine.
