About BBC Club W1

Relocated from nearby to the main BBC building in April 2024, and now sharing the Media Cafe space overlooking the newsroom. Audience members attending the Radio Theatre can now enjoy the cask ales prior to shows.

This is a club for BBC employees, pensioners, families, and partner employees, founded as a private members' club in 1924 and hence it celebrated its centenary year in 2024. The venue is open from 8am to 11am for breakfast pastries and then meal times as given; the bar opens at noon. Normally two cask ales are available.

This is a cozy, calm and friendly place. Thank you very much for the event that was organized for Ukrainians. The buffet was well organized, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxing.

Closed and moved to Broadcasting House in 2024.Only one bitter but at least they didn't run out this time. Food is very good too but the kitchen closes at unpredictable times. Christmas decorations make it look like a tart's boudoir.

A pleasant retreat. The (understandably) limited menu seems to offer something to satisfy everyone, is superbly cooked, presented and offered up in decent sized portions. Two perfectly kept real ales seem to always be on offer, made all the more interesting by tending to be from lesser known breweries. The decor has gradually improved to hide the fact that this is former offices.

Shame its closing for good. I had such a fun night in here at a private party!
