About Buckingham Arms

Spacious, traditional pub with leaded windows, serving British food and select ales and wines.

The licence dates from c1780 as the Black Horse; rebuilt in 1898 and renamed the Buckingham in 1901. An ever-popular (listed in every Good Beer Guide to date) and welcoming late Victorian Young’s pub where 2009 refurbishments have retained the etched glass mirrors behind the fine curving bar and added attractive stained glass screens. Background music is normally quiet and the main bar TV is silent except by request. The alley bar was formerly used by servants to avoid observation. Regular clientele includes local workers, military musicians, civil servants and MPs. Quiz night first Monday of the month.

Winner of a CAMRA Golden Award in 2021.

The rump roast, was amazing!! They made it gluten-free for my allergy, so I skipped the Yorkshire pudding. This was by far the best meal l've had on holiday for 16 days. The meat was so tender and juicy. The potato and carrots were cooked to perfection. I don't know what they did with these carrots, but somebody took a lot of time and making each individual vegetable taste amazing. The kale and cabbage mixed in with the herbs and juices. It was phenomenal. Just add a bit of salt and pepper,, Walla masterpiece! The chef is incredible, and so was the service! I'm here three more nights…

Took my mum here for her first Sunday Roast after watching the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace and am so happy I was able to show her what a proper English roast is all about! Great atmosphere, service, and the roast was the best I’ve had. Whether you’ve never had a roast or you’ve had 1000, I would highly recommend trying this place!

If you are coming to London for the first time or even a retuning guest, you absolutely need to check out the Buckingham Arms pub in Westminster. Every time we’re in London, this has been our go to pub. But something has changed in the past several years; in a good way! The food was good but now is exceptional thanks to new management and a new head chef. The staff is friendly and inviting and pub is something out of it Dickens novel. Hope you enjoy as much as we do!

Another classic English Pub with an eclectic interior and fascinating history. The Buckingham Arms was a step back in time. It has a great menu and beers on tap. I could have spent longer here, next time! 🍻🍸♥️

What a Sunday roast! Best one I’ve tried in London! 100% recommended if you are around! My choice was the pork, but will go for the beef next time because it looks amazing! 🤩
