About Camden Head
Off-street pub with a large terrace, typical British menu and traditional Victorian interior.
A marvellous example of a Victorian pub, Grade II listed, built in 1899 and restored in 1969 by architect Richard Gradidge. It was then that the pub lost its separate bars (clearly evidenced by the three splendid entrances, albeit one's blocked off); sections of the original partitions, with the engraved faceted glass, being reused to form part of the alcoves. The island bar remains the same with a splendid clock from Pond's of Clerkenwell and a blown glass gin bottle. Most of the etched, bowed windows are original although some were replaced as exact replicas in 1969. Stained and painted glass panels in the function room come from a nearby, demolished pub. Beautiful fireplace is original although tiles added during a more recent refurbishment. Waiter bell mechanism remains. Large outside terrace. Comedy club nightly free. The nearby area is packed with antiques shops and similar establishments. Beer range varies.

Brilliant staff, as I walked in I was greeted friendly. I ordered fish-and-chips only took about 10 minutes. The chips were very crispy and fried to perfection. The fish was battered very well and the peas were fresh. Definitely recommend.🥰🥰🥰

Amazing fish and chips and great cocktails! Bartenders were friendly and helpful with our undecisiveness, very fast service and lively ambiance. There was also a free comedy club which was entertaining! Definitely came back twice. Loved it!

First time I’ve eaten at this pub. Part of the Green King family. Food was lovely. Staff weee very helpful friendly. Good selection of beers. Has a great beer garden. Located well for Angel station. The place also hosts comedy nights for which you have to book in advance. So next time I shall definitely return and maybe have a laugh too.

This is a beautiful pub with a wonderfully decorated interior. It's a Greene King pub, so it has a decent menu with a good choice of beers. Definitely one of the best pubs in the Islington area.

Nice pub in a nice location. Absolutely the most inedible macaroni and cheese I have ever bore witness to. My husband and I couldn’t stand to look at it and it tasted like the second time someone had eaten it. Will not be eating food here again.
