About Lord Stanley

High-ceilinged pub with tiled exterior, wooden floors and a petanque area in its leafy beer garden.

Tile-fronted 1920s corner pub refurbished in early 2004 as a single room with an island which holds the bar and an open kitchen. The old Taylor Walker sign outside still survives. Operated by Stanley Pubs who run five other pubs in North London. On a visit on 31/10/23 only one cask beer on but pumpclips showed various others coming soon - we do not know how many may be on at any one time. The beer on sale was from Butcombe.

Some period fittings such as wall panelling, columns and fireplaces, and matching furniture. Large clear glass windows and bare wooden floors and stools around the bar which create a warm atmosphere with a hubbub of conversation. Pub is, to an extent, focused on food, but they do not take table bookings. Chef makes snacks and meals from a modern northern European menu: roast rib of beef on Sundays. There is a long wine list.

Benches and tables round the outside of the pub, and in the large beer garden. Buses to Camden Road/York Way. Nearest tube stations Caledonian Road & Kentish Town (about 1km). Listed as an Asset of Community Value (Nov 2015).

Cash not accepted - payment by card only.

Love this place! I’ve been living nearby and finally decided to try it out. Now it’s one of my favorite pubs. The vibe is super cozy. I came on a Tuesday night, and it was busy, but the food was amazing! Definitely order the ink risotto—it was so good, I had to get a second round! The margarita pizza (£10) is also great and super affordable. We ordered a ton of food because it was so good—ended up doing 2 rounds just to try more of the menu! The staff was really nice, too. They mixed up our order but fixed it right away. Definitely recommend this place!

After we stopped for a beer one night living nearby, we came back for dinner since the food looked and smelled good. We weren`t disappointed and especially recommend their Turkish pizza with lamb. The beer selection is good, the service friendly with good recommendations on both drinks and food. Unfortunately, it can become quite noisy in there so it might be a bit difficult to have a conversation. It can fill up quickly even during the week, we came back on a Thursday night and only found a place because locals made us join their table.

Very busy most times. Not the coziest pub though. High ceiling, over-sized bar smacked in the middle. Noises seemed to amplified for some reason. Very good pizzas though. Menus are on the board.

This pub is absolutely amazing and me and family go here very often! The food is incredible, the service is quick and I am always impressed by how quick and how good the food is especially considering there aren’t many chefs, but they are amazing! Give them my compliments! All the food is delicious and the pizzas are amazing especially the spiced Turkish pizza, highly recommended! The bar service is great and all the staff are so friendly! It has the classic homey vibe to go with the great food. I highly recommend this place!

Perfect pub in the neighbourhood. Their food is the top, the taste is always consistently good. The portion is generous too. No reason why you shouldn’t go back every other week! Atmosphere is also cosy and adorable.
