About Man of Kent
This basic local is one of many pubs rebuilt by London brewer Truman’s, between the wars. This interior is listed as one of regional importance primarily for its modest workaday design. The pub underwent refurbishment in 2014 which resulted in the removal of some of the panelling which has adversely affected the interior.
Features of note include the Truman's leaded windows and a eagle motif in the outside front wall. 3 handpumps but usually a single beer on offer. Customer requests may sometimes result in a second beer being sold. Several picnic style tables laid out on the front paved area.

🚇 Nunhead 🍺 £5.50 Pravha The Man of Kent is one of three pubs located around Nunhead Green just south of Peckham. The nearest station is Nunhead mainline, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This former Truman’s pub was originally built in 1867. Much like many Truman’s pubs, it was rebuilt in the 1930’s as part of their “improved pub” directive to make pubs more attractive to women. On the exterior the is the Truman eagle and beautiful stained leaded windows. This is a good size oldschool pub that two has two adjoining bars and a sort of snug at the back. The servery is centrally…

Really nice establishment, beer selection could be better tho. Place could do with a lick of paint, some new furniture and not sure about the "smoking shelter" out the back but thank God I don't smoke. Clientele wise, they seem like a very sociable bunch. Not sure if anyone has a job though, and a few look related to each other #twins

Went in here on a Saturday afternoon with my wife and daughter, looking for food. A very unfriendly, even hostile welcome. The bar staff literally walked away as I tried to speak, and we were stared at by the customers until we left. We are an interracial couple, and there were no other brown faces in the whole pub. Very much felt like "a local pub, for local people." Plenty of more friendly, pleasant pubs in the vicinity.

This is a lovely pub with a live band every Thursday night. The price of the drinks is very reasonable. The food is prepared by a Michelin star chef. Staff are friendly. Great craic. Highly recommend this establishment

Lovely little pub with a great atmosphere and live music. Staff were so friendly. There was a fab band called Sasha and the Lights playing the evening I attended and the atmosphere was electric everyone got involved singing along and dancing. What a vibe! Drink prices are decent as well.
