About Old Nun's Head
Large, airy and child-friendly pub with a mish-mash of old furniture, serving modern British meals.
On one corner of Nunhead Green, a large, traditional 1930s mock-Tudor community pub with a wood panelled interior and a rear courtyard garden. The menu offering varies throughout the week as the pub turns its kitchen over to different food producers but always a popular Sunday roast. Regularly hosts live comedy acts and a quiz is held on Thursday evenings. 4 handpumps on the bar counter with up to 2 changing guest ales usually available, in addition to the Laine's house beer. Laine's branded beers sold here may be from one of several Laine's brewpubs or contract brewed so ask before ordering if you want to be sure of provenance.

🚇 Nunhead 🍺 £6.60 Sonar Session IPA The Old Nun’s Head is one of three pubs located on Nunhead Green just south of Peckham in Southeast London. The nearest station is Nunhead, it’s ten minute walk to get here. This pub dates from the early 18th century, the present Tudor-style building dates from 1934. The pub remained closed for several years at the start of the 21st century and reopened in 2007, it is now run by Brighton brewers Laine. The decor here is traditional and retains many original period features whilst adding a few contemporary touches here and there. This is a one bar pub…

We recently had our wedding reception at the Old Nun's Head and cannot recommend it enough! We booked out the function room upstairs as well as the back garden, which was perfect for our group of about 80 guests. Allie was so great and fun to work with throughout, and the entire team were lovely and super accommodating, especially when we arrived late and had to push everything back. All our guests were going on about how great the food and wine was, and we all had the most fun dancing the night away upstairs. We would highly, highly recommend this pub for any private events as Allie and the…

We had our wedding reception here and couldn’t have chosen a better place. Everyone is so friendly - the vibes were on point. There was a huge disco ball and customisable lighting which meant we didn’t have to add too much to make it an amazing room for a party! We were truely able to add our own twist which was great. The food was exceptional, all of our guests were so impressed. The congratulations board outside was such a beautiful touch and really demonstrates attention to detail and how the small things make a huge difference. Side note I also come regularly for the roast which is…

Lovely Pub for a Sunday Roast. We walked in first thing when they opened, so managed to grab a seat. Most tables have been booked, so would recommend doing so before hand. Friendly staff and really good food, I opted for the beef roast, came with, veg and cheesy cauliflower which tasted delicious. Gravy came in abundance.

Absolutely amazing pub, stopped by here during the week and couldn't resist coming back for a roast on the Sunday. The roasts are as good as everyone says, great portions and excellent quality ingredients. The staff are so incredibly friendly and welcoming, can't wait for my next visit :)
