About Market Tavern

Comfortable traditional pub dominated by its large bar, with boudoir-themed upstairs dining room.

Rather gastropubby, and seems very busy most of the time, even mid-afternoon. A fairly small u-shaped bar downstairs so a lot of standers both inside and outside, and a lounge upstairs. Four cask ales often including some unusual ones.

The food offering is reasonably priced for the area and includes bar snacks, a main menu which includes pub favourites, and Sunday roasts.

Since its last refurb and reopening, the pub makes efforts to reduce its carbon footprint by working closely with charities such as FareShare (which helps reduce food waste) and the Zero Carbon Forum.

A wonderful pub with delicious food! I came here with my mum at the weekend, and we had a lovely time. Our waitress Kamilla was brilliant, she was so welcoming and helpful, and really made our time here special :) Thank you Kamilla. We will definitely be back soon :D

Cozy and cute pub that has some seriously delicious food menu options and lovely attention to detail. Everything we ate was not only delicious but looked amazing. We stumbled in here during a bit of a lunch rush but the staff was so kind and very accommodating despite it all. I highly recommend the bangers and mash but honestly everything we had was prepared so well.

Food: The Halloumi fries were the highlight of the meal as we thought that and the dip were very good. However the Sunday roast we felt was just average... It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either it was a very middle of the road experience for us especially but it was meant to be the star of the show. That being said, the variety and the amount of food that you're given for the price you pay is really good, the portions are very generous. Service: Our waitress was very very attentive to our needs and was very lively and interactive with us and that was a good touch. She provided some…
