About Paternoster

Smart pub furnished with a mix of antique and modern chairs and vintage-inspired wallpaper.

Although modern, the dark wood balustrades, panelling, furniture and floor lends a traditional feel. The central raised seating area and a side room with interesting photo panels also helps the pub's atmosphere. The outside seating has splendid views of St Paul's. Look out for the cat on the way to the toilets! Opened Dec 2003 replacing the Master Gunner demolished c1999.

Everything was awesome. I really enjoyed it here. Such a high end pub with the typical pub dishes. I especially liked how they took it up a notch and provided exquisite details in the menu. We all had the fish and chips, which means unfortunately, only one dish was sampled. The fish and chips were excellent. Nicely cooked chips, crunchy battered fish. Nice sauces. I did not mind the curry sauce at all. The peas were alright. I don't know how come they were not very green The tartare sauce was yummy. We also had 2 pitchers of Pimm's. I'm willing to try more items on the menu, but might…

5 stars is not enough to describe the BEST Sunday roast we ever had, extra gravy came in a a massive jug with elephant sized Yorkie! Honestly all food today was made out of this world, call it food coma or seven heaven! Team was very welcoming and genuine, especially Daria! We had to ask chef’s name, please pass on to Mike that he is the best Chef in the world and we will be coming back to try all his recipes. Thank you Paternoster for such amazing meal and great time!

Decent portions and quite tasty. Fish was fresh and the chips really nice! Burger was tasty as well! Friendly and helpful staff, definitely recommend!

Happened across this place after visiting St Paul’s Cathedral with my boyfriend. The atmosphere is that of a city pub if you go near end of working day, can be fairly empty earlier on. Is quite a large pub but I thought nicely appointed, especially noticed a well kept place on the walk downstairs to the gents. We had food and were very impressed. Even basic everyday dishes like the Chicken Escalope, which could be bland in many pubs, was very well seasoned here. Excellent meal.

Polite staff, speedy service, healthily battered haddock, fat nice chips. The curry sauce was nice surprise. More mushy peas next time please.
