About Rising Sun
Classic pub meals are served in this snug, old-fashioned haunt with a fireplace and beer on tap.
Traditional City pub, built in the 1820s. Was named the Hedgehog & Hogshead before reverting back. Not that big, mostly high stools and standing room around the central bar. Restaurant operated by "The Fat Bear" and function room upstairs.

Less than 5 minutes from St Pauls is an area of small alleys with several restaurants and pubs. This is a traditional pub that is quite smallish but does have additional seating upstairs and an exterior standing area. Given the small bar area choice is somewhat limited, less than 10 whiskies and no cask ale. I opted for a Stella at £6.40, the service was excellent. Of particular note are the brightly painted windows and the wall painting of London outside the toilets. Food is available. I would recommend a visit to this pub if you are in the area.

Thought this was a great place for us to end our night in the St Paul’s area: we stood outside in the nice warmth on a summer night, stood at the barrels. Beers were good, prices were fine. Would visit again.

Stopped off here this afternoon about 1pm and was met by a lovely friendly bar maid who was so accommodating and knowledgeable with her recommendations for choice of beer we decided to stop off again on our way back home. Staff a 6pm, there were two of them, they were totally different! Not the friendly welcome we’d had earlier, indifferent, belligerent and lacked knowledge of their products. 10/10 earlier 5/10 this evening!

If you are looking for a proper old school pub, with great atmosphere, service and beer. This is definitely a place to go. Love coming here for an afterwork pint. They do a really good Guinness.

Watched the football there. Friendly atmosphere. Traditional pub.
