About Portland Arms
Homey tavern with TV sports & a large beer garden, plus updated pub meals & Sunday roasts.
Re-opened in December 2016, this traditional pub now has a local feel. The large windows make it light and airy, and the painted wood interior includes sofas and prints depicting local places. The beers are locally sourced. Food is also locally sourced; and the menus cater for different tastes and tolerances and a delivery service is available. The garden area has a marquee which is available for events. Quiz night is Monday. The pub operates a loyalty scheme, and participates in the annual South Norwood festival.

🚇Norwood Junction 🍺 £5.70 Cruzcampo A Superb Welcoming Local. The Portland Arms is located on Portland Road in South Norwood, South London. The nearest station is Norwood Junction, it’s a ten minute walk to get here. This pub started life as The Prince of Denmark and was built in 1898. Portland Road used to have numerous pubs that were dotted along this busy stretch of road, today there is only one. In 2009 the pub closed its doors and remained dormant for seven years. Thankfully in 2016 the pub reopened and was renamed The Portland Arms. This is large one bar pub that has a…

Really nice pub for dinner after the football! Went in after the Palace game, to get some dinner and watch the Arsenal game. Friendly and helpful staff, good portions of food, good selection of beers and a fairly priced menu. Will definitely be back again!

Delicious food making you feel at home (as you can see from my photos). Drinks and cocktails at decent prices to suit many different taste buds. Indoor and outdoor seating available for any time of the year. The staff are extremely friendly, kind and accommodating. I always look forward to the quiz on a Monday evening and the Sunday Roast. Mouth-watering dishes for adults and children. Great spot for booking events such as parties and meetings. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!!

Very nice place. Good welcome, hospitality is good, staff helpful. Good selection of food and drink, and we're repeat customers as it's so consistently high quality. Get a loyalty card, save points and get cash equivalent plus the card holder gets a free birthday meal each year. Reasonable value now prices have risen with the extortionate costs in the UK in 2023, very dog friendly - heartily recommended. Sunday lunch is good, with consistent quality. The loss of the original manager and then the replacement, plus regular turnover of staff means that the pub is often understaffed and…
