About Prince Albert
Updated traditional pub with a heated beer garden, British pub grub, global beers and board games.
This pub lies on a prime site on the main artery leading to Portobello Road market. This is probably the oldest pub in the area and was put up by William Chadwick, the developer chosen by the Ladbroke family; typically for the era he was also the first licensee. A mid-2014 refurbishment opened up the bar area but left the basic U-shape intact, with banquettes at the front and the amazingly secluded patio garden area at the back. The painted bow-window at the northern end has seen better days but still merits study. The (locally) famous Gate Theatre, separately-run, is upstairs. Two cask ales reported plus up to ten rotating craft keg beers. The food menu includes pub favourites and Sunday roasts; a takeaway option is available.

went to this town for the market and stopped here to get some dinner - was a really, really good feed. I had the lamb special and it hit the spot, the lamb was cooked perfectly and the mash and gravy was delicious. Was too full to have dessert so had an espresso martini that was also divine. Really good meal. The ambience of the pub was really nice too, a good enough layout where you can fit a few people in without feeling too crowded. Bit spenny but super worth it.

I recently visited Prince Albert in Notting Hill in London, and I can confidently say it’s a must-visit spot for any fish and chips enthusiast. This charming pub effortlessly blends a warm, inviting atmosphere with the rich tradition of British cuisine. As soon as I stepped in, I was greeted by friendly staff, cozy interiors, and the perfect balance of a lively yet laid-back vibe. The star of the show, of course, was the fish and chips. The batter on the fish was golden and crisp, encasing a perfectly cooked, flaky piece of fresh cod. The chips were thick-cut, piping hot, and seasoned to…

A great pub with a superb selection of both cask and keg beers. A special mention for Max (behind the bar) who was most helpful and jolly. Great place offering fun to everyone. Not a big review as the pub is very busy. Next time. A super place!

A busy pub very near Notting Hill Gate station that has plenty of tables and a beer garden. They have plenty of beers on tap from which we tasted the Asahi (that tasted off) and Pravha (which was better). We also tasted the chicken and beef burger which we thought were not good for the £17 that we were charged - plenty of places that do better burgers for cheaper. The chips were good. And, it tends to be busy so book your table if you’re going there when the football is on.
