About Prince

Airy hangout with rustic touches offering pub fare, unique spirits and local craft beer on tap.

Built around 1880 by the philanthropist Thomas Arno which used to be run by the famous Mancini boxing family. Has now transmogrified itself into a fairly typical gastro with all that goes with it, including food that could not be described as inexpensive. However, drinkers are not made to feel unwelcome in this L-shaped single roomed establishment with a zinc metal topped bar. There is an outside drinking area but it has to close at 8.00 to prevent noise disturbing neighbours. At the time of the visit there were 4 handpumps fitted with two ales and two ciders on sale with 12 craft ales, lagers, cider on keg dispense. They run 'A Crafty Drink' offer throughout the weekdays between 5-7pm with 30% off selected products. Also offer tasting flights, takeaway bottles of draught beer (at reduced rates) and host regular collaborative events with breweries throughout the year.

For the price point this was an enjoyable lunch. Leek gratin was a nice alternative to the typical cauliflower gratin most places offer. Fantastic selections of pale ales etc on tap. Good service.

Super cute spot that pours a good pint. Great variety on tap too! I tried the Seacider Elderflower Cask Cider and it was suuuuper good! Highly recommend for a pub that's a bit off the beaten path in Stokey.

Nice local pub in Stoke Newington. The food was tasty, and the service was friendly. It was a bit too busy & noisy during brunch time as the music was too loud and people had to speak in a load voice with their mates. We had a nice time.

🚇 Stoke Newington 🍺 £5.90 Budvar ❤️ A laid back Stokey local. . Perched on a corner in a quiet residential street in N16 you’ll find The Prince. The nearest station is Stoke Newington Overground which a ten minute amble away. . The Prince or The Prince of Wales as it was first called, was built by Charringtons around 1880. Many pubs have dropped “Arms” “Tavern” etc from their name to appear more appealing, can you stop that please! . The decor here is rustic with a traditional feel, this pub had some nice features throughout. The servery has a contemporary look with a mix of parkay…

Went for Sunday lunch. Chose the chateaubriand which was cooked to order and very tasty. It was accompanied by a large Yorkshire, very hot fresh roast potatoes, carrots, green beans and loads of gravy. We had a side order of crispy leeks which I would recommend to elevate the Sunday lunch experience. It was all hot and delicious. We then had a tiramisu for pudding and it was enormous. The service was quite slow though. Took a long time to take our orders for food and drinks. Great atmosphere. big groups of people and people with dogs. friendly local pub in the heart of a residential area…
