About Royal Oak
Traditional local serving a familiar all-day menu of pub grub, plus grill and curry nights.
Imposing corner pub dating from 1897, which catered for noblemen and gentry in early 1900's. The building replaced an earlier, plainer, pub that had been trading from at least 1867. It still has two bars, separated by an open top wooden partition with a low through way. The smaller former public bar has a flagstone floor. The large lounge has a curved bar which leads through to the food bar. Adjoining is a large comfortable seating area, with a raised area by the front window. Several Benskins of Watford mirrors hint at former ownership. Note the etched Lounge bar windows with ‘public bar’ on two of them. At the rear is a large garden and there are upstairs function rooms for hire. The changing beers include local brews and there are also keg beers from the group's own Battersea Brewery. Accredited for beer quality during 2023.

I organised a party here and was very disappointed with what I got for my money. I arranged everything over email for 15 adults and 10 kids. I pre paid around £250 for a sandwich buffet, sausage rolls and crisps. When the food arrived, the sandwiches and pitta were stale, the sandwiches had really thick bread and not enough filling and were all chucked on the same plates, no separation, no presentation and no labels. It was very disappointing and not worth what I paid. I was also told that if there was food leftover, I would be able to take it home, thinking they have takeaway boxes…

Really nice pub we came for the 8 HR slow cooked lamb shoulder shepherds pie and it didn't disappoint. Starters were really good too.

Heaps of atmosphere at The Royal Oak in New Malden. Excellent wait staff. Lovely outdoor seating. I'm delighted that this is the closest pub to a friend of mine who lives nearby. We stop in here often when I visit. As she was laid up this visit, I arranged for take out even though the pub doesn't do takeout. Very kind of them! We both had delicious fish and sweet potato french fries. I can't wait to return.

Lovely pub, we watched the game and it had multiple places to watch (garden, upstairs , two other spaces) so easy to find space. The food was very good especially for a pub, the fish and chips I heard from my friends was good, I have intolerances and it was easy to order and they were helpful. I would like to see a small addition of gf burger buns or maybe bread but a small issue. The bar staff were helpful and it was quick to order , prices reasonable

Friendly staff, offered an umbrella for the garden amidst the summer heatwave. Well kept traditional pub with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The Sunday roast was one of the best we've had and we will be coming back for more! Stunning gravy, vegetables full of flavour, generous portion of meat.
