About Stapleton Tavern
Quirky pub with bric-a-brac decor and retro videogames, serves bistro fare and global beers.
Acquired by pub company Antic in 2010, initially tied to Greene King but as of Feb 2023 that no longer seems to be the case - the guests were Fyne Ales Jarl and when that ran out Landlord was put on.
A very large pub with an L-shaped bar and home to a truly bizarre collection of ornaments, tiny lampshades, ice skates, and an original 1970s video games table and oid-fashioned table football machine. A very large back room (no TV) has an impressive lantern. The front of the pub can get very busy and noisy when football is shown.
When this establishment traded as the Stapleton Hall Tavern it was quite a famous live music venue. [The original Stapleton Hall Tavern was licensed in 1765 at the NW end of Stapleton Hall Rd., was sometimes known as The Green Man and became Stroud Green Conservative Club in 1888. The house has subsequently been converted to flats.]

I love this pub, regularly come for a drink and lovely atmosphere. My only qualm is never come here on a Sunday afternoon- this pub is no better than a crèche. The Crouch End Elite come here with their noisy children and let them run wild around the tables, and unfortunately the staff do nothing to stop them. It’s noisy and screechy and deeply unpleasant. What a shame!

Came here for a lovely Sunday roast and was lucky enough to have the last beef roast of the day. Was delicious! The staff were amazing, so friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back.

I have lived in Finsbury Park for almost ten years, and this pub is the best. It hasn’t always been this way, but when I visited yesterday, I was overwhelmed by the great service and genuine care for everyone watching the match. The vibe embodies the true local spirit. Andy, who served me, showed the kind of class you would expect from a high-end restaurant. Speaking of which, the food is the best in N4! The chef is excellent 👌. There are a lot of pubs in N4, but this one is nailing it.

Decent pub - nice friendly bar staff. Plenty of seats and not bad selection on tap. Back toilets are atrocious, but lots of quirky little touches elsewhere. Looks like a good spot to watch the football with various screens around and I noticed a large projector screen too.

Loved it!! Great meeting friends and watching the Cricket T20 World Cup match. Brandon was at the bar taking really good care of us. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Worth a visit.
