Cavernous vaulted bar under railway arches (open weekdays only), with other arches for private hire.
Long basement Free House bar occupying a brick archway underneath Cannon Street main line station. Opened in 2000 in former club premises. Carpeted floors with a mixture of tables and chairs, spot lighting and exposed brick walls and ceiling. Steps lead to an upper gallery seating area overlooking the main bar. Doors near the entrance lead through to the archway next door used for private functions. Renamed LOOSE CANNON by May 2012. By 2019 renamed Steel Yard - an event space/nightclub with ticketed events. Areas available for private hire.

First time here, I'm amazed how there's not more nights that cater for a wider audience. It's such a great venue for music and I went here for a day party over the Easter weekend. Was a lot of fun! It's right by cannon street station, central and just super easy all round. Would highly recommend it if there's a night you have in mind 💯 Staff were nice and overall had a solid time (sorry for a lack of photos, tells you how enjoyable the night was) A***** LDT x

Had a great start to the night at this venue but was completely ruined by their security team when I was trying to leave the venue with my girlfriend….. I was accused of trying to harass her and was accused of possibly being a murderer ! Absolutely disgusting behaviour and to top it off the gay female security manager had the cheek to try and ask for my girlfriends number :( As a fellow licensed door supervisor this kind of behaviour from door staff gets us a bad name ! ….. a message to the owner of Steel Yard…… please please don’t let your staff behave like this :(

Really fun place, the Bongo's Bingo event we went to was lively and the atmosphere was great. Sadly they don't offer much by the way of cocktails/fun drinks, but the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We went yesterday for an event so I can't judge the regular music played. However in terms of staff, they were friendly and helpful when a mistake was made. The vibes are really awesome and there is an area that you can relax on top. I think by far what I liked the most is the ventilation, which is rare for a club. Great job on that. Will definitely try it again.

The steel yard is one of the best places I have ever been, they keep their venue so clean and create the most amazing atmosphere. Special thanks to the venue manager Kelly who came to make sure we were okay and looked after us and made us feel so welcomed and calm and comfortable. She is the most amazing person and venue manager. All of the staff were amazing and super friendly. Really couldn’t have asked for more for the most amazing night 😊
