About Turner's Old Star
Homely pub, owned by Turner from 1830, now with sports on big-screen TVs, games and cask ales.
Named after the great British painter Joseph Turner 1775-1851 who created it from two cottages. This Victorian corner locals' pub has been tastefully renovated but retains many original features. Now a family run street corner free house, The red leather bench seats that abut the walls benefit from light shining through the multi coloured stained glass windows. A pool table and dart board compliment the two large TV that show sporting events. Cooked breakfasts then Pie and Chips encompass the food offering.

Pretty great pub with lots of life. We were very loud when we arrived, but it wasn’t too bad. Watched the football and then played a couple of games of pool : not bad at all!

Although this pub is in Wapping it is more of a traditional local than other pubs in the area. It has a smallish but nice beer garden and the pub is opposite a nice small park. It is also reasonably priced, three beers for under £16. They had 3 cask and 10 different whiskies. The pub is bright with a lot of natural light and has a pool table. This is not a pretentious pub and if you are doing the Wapping pub crawl I would add this to your list.

Great traditional pub, with fantastic original decor inside and lots of nic nacs. The bar lady behind the bar (who we think was the landlady) was very friendly and chatty with us. There are 3 handpumps, two local ones and a good mix of types and strengths. I would love this to be my local

Very welcoming traditional 'East End' local.. Always have selection of fine real ales. A cycling threesome of well kept and well priced beers. Often including dark ale A great display with a Beefeater uniform and supporting info...

A real friendly locals pub. Popped in for a quick drink while passing through. Friendly welcoming barmaid. Pub was really empty as it was quite early. Unfortunately no real ales on which my partners likes, so had a quick drink and moved on.
