About Hand In Hand
Low-ceilinged, 19th-century cottage on the edge of the Common, decorated with framed photographs.
This celebrated ale house and community hub on the edge of Wimbledon Common is a one bar pub with distinct areas and a variety of seating.
At least three guest beers, with usually at least one from each of Sambrook's and Twickenham. Paddles of three 1/3rds for sampling.
A great place to eat, with beer included in several recipes.
The Hand in Hand is regularly featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide and was the CAMRA SW London Pub of the Year 2013. (See photo of the award presentation).
The family room at the front is used by various local groups and societies on weekday evenings.
During warm weather drinkers spill out onto the grassy area in front of the pub, with plastic glasses eliminating the obvious hazard.
The licensee runs an educational programme on cellar management and beer tasting.
Poker on Mondays and Quiz Tuesday from 7:30 pm.
The Hand in Hand was a family owned beer house for 100 years before Young's bought it in 1974. In the early 19th century it had been a bakehouse on the site of a house owned by brewer Watney's grandfather.

Another fine offering from the Young's stable. The Hand in Hand in Wimbledon is popular, friendly and well presented. The staff are great, offering super service and a great smile. The pictures tell me the late Queen Mother along with the man who used to be called Prince were active members of staff. A good fun place to visit and I would be happy to work away in "The Study" anytime. Good fun.

A very Merry start to our Christmas with such a festive cornucopia of delights! The atmosphere was aplenty and staff very welcoming. As a solo diner with dog on a Christmas Day lunch I was a little anxious to what our experience would be like.. any weight was lifted like Santa’s sack to his sleigh from the moment we arrived! Our table was beautifully decorated with all the twinkle and wonder I could imagine. My dog Oli was well catered for with treats coming in every direction to keep him sated and with his very own water bowl. My Christmas meal was excellent quality and value. I had the…

Great setting, and the guy on front of house allocating tables (probably the manager) is very friendly and cheerful, unlike most of the bar staff who seemed surprised to be there and not particularly happy about it. If we had just had drinks I would have given it 4/5-stars. But we decided to eat… My steak was very well cooked, but very gristly. It was mostly gristle in fact, with bits of tasty meat in between. The peppercorn sauce however was inedible. Watery and just awful. You can buy better in the Co-op. My friend had the fish and chips and the curry sauce that came with it was also…

Wonderful pub right next to the park at the top of the hill. We were in one of the back rooms just off of the main area with the bar Cosy in the winter, excellent food and notably friendly, attentive and helpful staff. The food is top end pub food and an above average Guiness. Lovely spot for lunch after walking the dogs in the park, or a good dinner. Kid friendly

Enjoyed the food, we ordered croquettes, sausage rolls, and very surprised by how densely filled the chicken and beef pies were. Busy on the weekends, filled with dog walkers and families. Lots of parking on nearby residential roads.
