About Jolly Gardeners

A traditional pub with a good sized beer garden. It was Rebuilt in 1922 replacing a pub stood since 1794. It is almost surrounded by the old Watney's brewery, now sold and site to be redeveloped. It was previously called the Three Tuns in 1720 and the present name appeared in 1796 as a possible reference to the expanding market gardens of the area. Originally a two-bar pub, the separating screen was removed in 1987. The pub has a Pool table in the back room, two dartboards, Jukebox & fruit machines. Now an ex Young's house and owned by Punch Pubs & Co after Young's disposal of 56 of their tenanted pubs in August 2021.

Just left this great classic English local. Absolute great service from the bearded guy behind the bar. You could see he loved his job, he was cleaning, taking care of things, very polite. We felt very welcome. Definitely recommend

This pub is very dreary and tired, not my cup of tea! A pub should have character at least if nothing else, this one is hanging on by a shoe string, it's got a pool table though! And the prices are reasonable

This is an old fashioned 'local' with no food served other than crisps and peanuts etc but the landlady is very friendly. My walkers group have just resumed visiting there after our walk and she always bakes delicious cakes for us. There is a nice little garden to the side of it with very comfy patio furniture
