About One Kew Road

Colourful, flamboyantly decorated restaurant mixing antique and modern, with an international menu.

This pub and restaurant is located opposite Richmond Station and reopened April 2011 after an extensive refurbishment. The up-market modern and spacious establishment is spread over 2 floors. The bar serves wine, cocktails, chilled continental beers and real ale from three hand-pumps (although may not always be available). The building's claim to fame is that it was the venue for the Rolling Stones’ first ever gig.

There is seating in the front and main part of the restaurant. We were welcomed by duty manager. Great food and service. The lady that served us, was very attentive and personable. 2 hours seating only, but as we had a later booking we were lucky to have been able to stay to near closing.

Had a lovely evening with friends. Short walk from the Richmond Railway station. Has outside seating as well. Food was fresh and tasted very good with good presentation. Cocktails and wine were good as well as the desserts. Would have liked to see a gluten free dessert but at least there was a vegan one. Host was very warm and welcoming and graciously let us stay a little past the 2 hour mark after our server made it a point to remind us…our server seemed to be a little less than polite at times even though we were very polite and friendly with him. Overall good experience and service from…

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch here recently. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I chose the tofu curry and chocolate cake from their vegan menu and they were delicious. As was the Golden Peacock cocktail I treated myself to as well! The decor and atmosphere were great. I'd recommend and I'm sure I'll be back.

I had the most amazing experience at Rock and Rose in Richmond. The food was great - my friend and I ordered the crispy tempura shrimp, the chicken milanese, the lamb leg steak and sticky toffee pudding for dessert - can't fault anything, tasted amazing! The drinks were delicious too, the bartenders put on a whole show for us and it added to the experience. The staff were all so lovely and hospitable, I loved the decor and ambience inside and it was super packed which goes to show how popular it is. Thank you so much for having us, this place is a hidden gem for sure! Can't wait to return ✨️

The place is beautiful, and the food was good but the service is poor, the waiter from Serbia was grumpy and making faces while taking the orders and when we were paying the bill. However Benjamin was friendly and professional.
