About Railway Tavern

Quirky haunt offering modern bar bites & a Sunday roast in quaint digs with a patio.

The pub re-opened as an Antic outlet in August 2014. Two Volden cask ales are available with up to two changing cask ales, such as from Adnams, Timothy Taylor and St Austell.

Single bar with several rooms and partitioned areas lead off with the usual Antic eclectic range of shabby chic furniture and dim lighting. To the left of the bar, one room is served by the open kitchen. The popular menu concentrates on traditional British fare with both snacks and mains as well as Sunday roasts.

The pub was originally built in the Victorian era for the Nalder & Collyer Brewery of Croydon in conjunction with the coming of the railway to Bromley North. The green and ochre tiling completely covers the two external facades of this essentially triangular footprint building. Located at the junction of East Street and North Street, this formed part of the recent regeneration of East Street with the large "BROMLEY NORTH" sign standing on the other side of the street.

Handy for the Bromley Little Theatre, just around the corner as well as Bromley North station opposite and adjacent bus station.

A nice pub in the Centre of town. £6.20 for a pint of Moretti so on the cheaper end of pubs. Food isn’t the best especially considering how much it costs these days. Large beer garden at the rear of pub which is lovely on a hot summers day!

Best pub in Bromley without a doubt. I always make a point to head here for a drink if out in Bromley. Really friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great choice of drinks and very nice, freshly cooked food.A very busy quiz night (book a table well in advance). They also have live music and show some sports fixtures. *Update* still the best pub in Bromley, still drinking there. *Update* just had the best margarita in Bromley full stop, Nick is amazing. Highly recommend a margarita from him, sure he could mix something else as well.

First visit since it's changed ownership. Service and atmosphere still great. Food has changed for the worse though. Increased in price and decreased in portion size. £10 for a chicken burger and then £4 for chips is a lot even if it tastes nice.

Had a bit of a gathering here on a Friday, was busy with plenty of atmosphere. Had booked a table so no problem.about getting a seat and would recommend you do so on Friday. Background music was great and sound level was just about right to hold a conversation.

Great pub with a fantastic Friday night atmosphere. Live music, great beers (£3.50 a pint !!) and brilliant burgers, what more could you want.
