About Traveller's Tavern

Pub adjacent to coach arrivals, serving all-day food and British ales on tap, with outside space.

Large, open plan pub with TV sports and attractive all day menu to refresh arrivals at and departures from the Victoria Coach Station opposite. Not surprisingly given its location, the clientele seems largely transient. Note that the licence permits sale of alcohol only from 9am.

The Bricklayers Arms, licensed in 1823, was the first pub here, rebuilt in 1938/39 as the Imperial Hotel, receiving its present name in the 1970s but parading from 1996 until 2002 as the Rat & Parrot.

Whenever I’m in London, I always come back here. In fact, I only choose this place for food! Brilliant food, home/soul food. Great atmosphere and absolutely lovely people. My favourite meal is the vegan mushroom Main dish, so good 😊 Thank you very much 🙏

Waiting for my bus and wanting to kill time I ventured in hoping to have somewhere I could have a nice pint - and boy did I deserve one - with all the travelling I had done - and a nice rest. Bar looked decent from the outside, and a small but boisterous crowd inside. I went to the quiet bar and waited to be served. And waited. And waited. Despite two people working behind the bar it seemed I was invisible. Disappointed I decided to sit down for a bit and at least grab some free water on offer. But heck I came for a pint and a pint I should get. So I tried again, and eventually I was…

Very nice pub situated close to Victoria Station. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. I tried their Katsu Chicken Burger, which was delicious and well made. Enjoyed an evening watching a bit of football while waiting for my bus.

Really poor experience on this visit. Staff were not interested in keeping the place clean and welcoming at all. No check back for my food, plates left for over an hour during my visit, a couple sat eating KFC, cocaine baggies in the toilets that haven’t been checked. An utter mess of a pub. Was very quiet during the visit so no excuses! Staff just happy to be on their phones behind the bar!
