About Woodman
Family-and-dog-friendly pub with rustic, seasonal British food, an open fire and leather sofas.
A pub that has a substantial food trade, especially popular with young families at weekends.
Drinkers tend to congregate in the front area around the servery, with sport often shown on TV. A more spacious dining area leads to a patio at the back.
Hall & Woodhouse had recently wanted to sell the Woodman and vacated and closed it in August 2023. However, a petition at https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/save-the-woodman-battersea gathered many signatures - this was the only pub left in Battersea High Street after the Castle had been demolished and the Quecumbar (Original Woodman) closed - and the pub reopened on 26 October, initially without the food provision, attractively refurbished.

Fabulous pub getting back on its feet thanks to new manager Simon (who's genuinely a great guy). Excellent and highly valued local pub that's dog friendly with a great selection of beers which you can ask to taste before buying. Serves food Wednesday to Sunday at certain times, but be warned the menu is regularly updated - no more steak or truffle fries. It's away from the hustle of Battersea Park Road and is very family and community-centric. Great find and highly recommended.

I love this pub. It’s such a shame that a few of the staff let the whole place down. It’s mid refurbishment which I get however there is absolutely no need to take the teething problems out on customers. It was very uncomfortable. Not having a functioning kitchen, must be very frustrating for all the team. Been TOLD that you can only order burgers etc BUT not until after 18:30 is not very professional esp as we arrived for your usual gorgeous lunch. We go to the Woodman regularly for drinks but last Sunday we decides to try their Sunday roast, as we had family visiting. We tried every plate on the menu and they didn't disappoint. Portions are generous, food was well cooked and well presented. Service was pretty fast considering how busy they were. Will definitely eat again.

Came here on Sunday for Mother’s Day and had the Sunday Roast. The manager offered us free Prosecco courtesy of Mother’s Day which was a nice treat. Lovely food and very attentive staff. The manager is very thoughtful and friendly. The roast was absolutely delicious and the apple pie was heavenly! Going back this weekend for a friend’s birthday - can’t wait!

Stopped by as my daughters first communion. Arranged a dinner . Have been before a couple of years ago the menu has changes from English to a more mixed . My group found the food nice and good tasting from steak to large pork chop ,thai green curry. we arrived it was not too busy at 2pm We all liked the food . ....thank you . Recommended.
