Once we embraced the quirkiness of going behind the busy bar and by the kitchen to access our rooms (we're American so we're not used to that sort of thing), we had a fine stay. The room and bathroom were clean. There was a loud (but good) band playing that night but luckily, on the top floor, our room was surprisingly quiet. Tea and coffee kettle worked just fine. TV had a big line through and was cracked. Staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful and couldn't have been nicer.

We enquired about food and found out it was pizza day. The menus were informative and offered either 8 inches or 16-inch pizza. The price was very reasonable for pub grub. We ordered and moved out to the garden.. we sat under shelter as it was so hot. The garden was small but well presented. The pizza's arrive and were very nice. Maybe a little bit hot.. but I ate all mine. The beers were nice and loo very clean. First…
