About Counting House
Chic rooms in a refined bank-turned-pub featuring a glass-domed ceiling & a sweeping staircase.
Previously a bank, this pub opened in 1997 and consists of a single large oval bar with an upstairs gallery seating area. The former manager's offices to the rear are used as function rooms. A war memorial, thought to the the only one actually in a public house, commemorates the bank staff who died in the Great War. The building dates back to 1893 and part of its is built on a Roman basilica that was incorporated into the walls of the strong room.

A really nice pub with an amazing interior. The staff were nice. Food and drink nice but a little pricey. To have no baby change though I thought was quite poor - there was space for it in the disabled loo but it just wasn’t there. Changing a baby on the floor in a toilet isn’t hugely fun!

Enjoyed counting house. Had dinner and drinks there. Ended up in room upstairs for our group of 8. Good English pub food. The pies were very good. Portions are big. They have an online kids menu which you can order from. I thought the service could have been better. Busy on a Wednesday evening and being a pub lots of good drinks choices! Worth a visit if you are nearby.

A fantastic experience. I had a group of 33. We had been booked into the back room which was small for everyone to fit in. No problem! The pub was quiet so instantly the excellent sandwiches and salads were brought into the bar and served. It was quite challenging to get everyone served drinks but the team calmly got on with it. The food was of excellent quality. All round a great experience. Thank you.

Amazing Location and rooms! The rooms are very clean and comfortable and true to pictures. This hotel offers free breakfast which were delicious and fresh. The service also provided fresh towels and tidied the room everyday. In the bathroom you can find every basic amenities so you don’t have to bring your own if you’re travelling lowcost. Location is perfect, you have two underground stations nearby: Bank and monument stations. Location is very close to London Bridge, Sky garden skyscraper, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge and many more. We were very satisfied.

Fabulous service, room (Angel) was huge, clean and very comfortable. A re-do for sure. Location was perfect. Breakfast was awesome and the beat fish & chips too at their Fullers pub.
